Switchboard upgrades in Bathurst and Orange
Replace an old ceramic fuse board with a modern switchboard that protects every circuit with safety switches.

Signs your switchboard needs replacing
- Ceramic fuses with fuse wire instead of circuit breakers
- No safety switches (RCDs), or only one covering part of the house
- Fuses blowing or breakers tripping regularly
- A warm, buzzing or burning smell from the board
- Asbestos backing boards, common in older Central West homes
- No room for new circuits for an air conditioner, induction cooktop, solar or EV charger
What’s included in an upgrade
We replace the old board with a new enclosure, circuit breakers and safety switches on every final circuit, test each circuit, label the board clearly and issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW). Because we’re a Level 2 ASP, we can also relocate or replace the meter and upgrade the service at the same time if your property needs more capacity.
Commercial and three-phase boards
For shops, offices and workshops we design and install main switchboards and distribution boards, including three-phase boards, sub-mains and lighting control enclosures.

Frequently asked
How long does a switchboard upgrade take?
Most homes are done in a single day, with the power off for part of it. We’ll tell you how long to expect before we start.
Is it a legal requirement to have safety switches?
New work must be protected by safety switches under AS/NZS 3000. Older homes aren’t forced to upgrade, but safety switches are the most effective protection against electric shock and are strongly recommended.
Can you remove an asbestos switchboard?
We can replace a switchboard with an asbestos backing board, following the safe handling and disposal requirements for that material.
